This site is a catalogue of selected works completed whilst studying a Bachelor of Design- Architecture at QUT in Brisbane and a Diploma of Building Design at Sunshine Coast Tafe. Dave's journey in the construction industry started early as a young carpentry apprentice. Being a carpenter by trade Dave has always had a physical appreciation for architecture and now, as of the past five years, a design-based theoretical appreciation is continuing to develop. Integral developments include the acknowledgement of people, place, time and context. Dave is inspired by the constant discovery of intricately weaved details in which moments of pleasure and comfort can be achieved through simply responding to, and collaborating with the climate, the site and client's briefs.
Please feel free to check out some of the work I've completed throughout my studies so far. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Sustainable Design
We are living in an important information era where societies are beginning to realise the effect we as humans are having on the environment. Designers are fortunate to have the opportunity to generate ideas which will positively impact on both the environment and society. Throughout the course so far, we have had the opportunity to investigate and implement sustainable systems and ideas in our projects. Of particular importance is the significance or regional architecture and the knowledge we can gain from studying and practicing regional architecture.
Compliant Design
Compliant design and working drawing made up a significant part of the Diploma course. In particular we studied the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, Queensland Development Code and relevant town plans. Information gathered provided requirements, restrictions and standards for specific building classes.
